Effective and last updated: August 18, 2026

Plain-language notice. These policies are intended to explain our current practices and reduce uncertainty. They are not a promise that every legal rule applies to this small, independently hosted property, and they are not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney.

Privacy policy

What we collect and why

Bodega Bay's Edge is hosted by Krista and Steve Cartwright. This policy applies to bodegabaysedge.com and information we handle for inquiries, reviews, guest accounts, reservations, and stays. A booking channel may provide its own privacy notice in addition to this one.

Information you provide

  • Contact and reservation details, such as name, email, phone number, dates, party size, stay selected, and messages.
  • Guest-account details where that feature is available, including a password hash and reservation history. Please do not reuse a password from another service.
  • Optional review details, including display name, email, rating, stay, month, and review text. Reviews are moderated before publication; email addresses are not displayed with reviews.
  • Accommodation, accessibility, pet, arrival, or preference information you choose to share so we can prepare for a stay.
  • Payment and booking status. Card details are handled by the booking or payment provider and are not intended to be stored by this website.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting, security, and analytics providers may receive IP address, browser and device information, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, approximate location, and cookie or similar identifiers. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and understand use of the site.

How information is used and disclosed

We use information to answer inquiries, administer reservations and guest accounts, provide the stay, prevent fraud, publish approved reviews, improve the site, meet tax and recordkeeping duties, and protect guests, hosts, and the property. We disclose only what is reasonably needed to service providers and booking partners such as Vercel, Google Analytics, Supabase, IGMS, Stripe where enabled, and the channel through which a guest books. We may also disclose information when required by law or to address safety, fraud, or legal claims. We do not sell guest contact or reservation information for money.

Retention, security, and your choices

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, including reservation, tax, dispute, safety, and fraud-prevention records, then delete or de-identify it when practical. No online system is perfectly secure, but we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards and limit access to people and providers who need it.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we control, or object to certain uses, by emailing bodegabaysedge@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when law or a valid business need requires it. We will not discriminate against you for making a privacy request. California residents can learn more from the California Attorney General's privacy resources.

Cookie notice

Cookies, analytics, and outside services

The site uses necessary cookies for protected host or guest areas and may use cookies or similar technology for preferences, security, and Google Analytics. Google may process device and usage information under its own terms. You can limit cookies in your browser and use Google's analytics opt-out tools, though blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or private-guide features.

Links and embedded services from IGMS, Airbnb, Vrbo, Instagram, Google, Stripe, maps, or other providers are controlled by those companies. Their policies apply when you use their sites or tools.

Website terms

Using this website

By using this site, you agree to these terms. Use it lawfully and do not interfere with the site, attempt unauthorized access, scrape non-public guest or host information, impersonate another person, introduce malicious code, or misuse reviews, accounts, booking tools, or contact channels.

Site content is provided for general information. We try to keep descriptions, rates, availability, links, and local recommendations accurate, but they can change and may contain errors. The booking screen and written confirmation control a reservation. Photos, text, branding, and original site materials may not be republished commercially without permission; ordinary sharing of public links is welcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site is provided “as is” without warranties about uninterrupted operation or complete accuracy. Bodega Bay's Edge is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising only from use of the informational website or an outside service. Nothing here limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited. California law governs these website terms, without overriding mandatory protections that apply where you live.

Important lodging notices

Reservations, cancellations, and house rules

Reservation agreement and payment

A reservation is not confirmed until the booking provider accepts it and issues confirmation. Rates, taxes, fees, deposits, payment timing, minimum stays, occupancy, and channel-specific terms shown during checkout or in the confirmation become part of the reservation agreement. Guests must provide accurate information and be legally able to enter the booking agreement. If you book through IGMS, Airbnb, Vrbo, or another channel, that provider's applicable terms also apply.

Cancellation and refunds

The site currently summarizes the direct-booking cancellation rule as: cancel 30 or more days before check-in for a 50% refund. The exact deadline is measured against the scheduled check-in date. Your checkout screen and confirmation control if they state a different channel-specific rule. No other refund, credit, or rescheduling outcome is promised by this summary; contact the hosts promptly if plans change. Approved refunds can take additional time to appear after a payment provider processes them.

Property rules and coastal conditions

  • Check-in is after 4:00 PM and checkout is before 11:00 AM, unless the hosts confirm otherwise.
  • Observe the listed maximum occupancy, quiet hours of 9:00 PM–8:00 AM, parking directions, and no-smoking/no-vaping rule.
  • Pets require advance approval and are allowed only in designated stays with the applicable fee. Service animals are handled under applicable law and are not treated as pets.
  • Report damage or unsafe conditions promptly. Guests may be responsible for damage, extraordinary cleaning, unauthorized occupancy, or rule violations as allowed by the reservation agreement and law.
  • This is a waterfront property with stairs, decks, tides, rocks, wildlife, weather, grills, and a wood stove. Use reasonable care, supervise children and animals, follow posted instructions, and never leave a fire unattended.

Accessibility statement

Digital and lodging access

We want people with disabilities to be able to learn about, book, and enjoy Bodega Bay's Edge. Our ongoing digital-accessibility target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We work to support keyboard use, visible focus, readable contrast and type, meaningful headings, text alternatives, form labels, zoom and reflow, and clear error messages. Accessibility is an ongoing practice, not a one-time certification, and some outside booking or embedded services are controlled by their providers.

The property is a historic waterfront building, and the three stays have different paths, levels, stairs, doors, bathrooms, parking arrangements, and other physical features. Do not assume that a stay is step-free or wheelchair accessible based only on photos or a general amenity list. Before booking, contact us for specific measurements and a description of the route to the entrance, sleeping and bathroom layout, shower or tub, parking, and any other feature important to you. We will discuss reasonable modifications and communication needs, including service-animal arrangements, as applicable.

If a page, document, booking step, or property description is difficult to use, call or email us. Tell us the page or stay, what you were trying to do, and the format or accommodation that would help. We will work with you to provide the information or service through an accessible method. For background, see the U.S. Department of Justice lodging guidance and WCAG 2.2.
